Welcome to Swiss Court
Guest House B & B in Keswick,
the Lake District.
Maria and Mary extend a
warm and friendly welcome to you.
Swiss Court Guest House
is an imposing, red sandstone fronted residence built in the late 1800’s.
It was originally built for the Church as a Congregational Chapel, School and
Ministers residence, and was named the Manse.
In 1931 the Church sold
the Manse and it became a private dwelling house. The Manse is believed to have
become a Guest house offering bed and
breakfast accommodation around 1953 and had its name changed in the 1970’s
to Swiss Court Guesthouse, which it has been ever since.
Today’s Swiss Court
Guest House is a centrally located four star establishment, offering a high standard
of clean and comfortable accommodation. Our elevated position affords stunning
views from all our rooms. An ideal base for walkers, cyclists or for just simply
relaxing, with Derwentwater and the beautiful surrounding fells only a few minutes
away.
Breakfast is the most important
meal of the day. We pride ourselves on serving you a top quality home cooked breakfast
in our comfortable relaxed dining room. To start your breakfast we have a selection
of cereals, fruit juice, grapefruit segments and fresh fruit, followed by a full
cooked traditional breakfast or vegetarian, with lighter options available. All
prepared using top quality free range local produce whenever possible.
Our Cumberland sausage and
dry cured bacon are supplied by an award winning Cumbrian butcher, and our eggs
are also free range and locally produced. All served with Maria’s delicious
tangy homemade marmalades and jams, we also have marmite and honey plus a range
of speciality teas for you to enjoy.
